Sited on the North Mediterranean Sea in Sidi Abdel Rahman, Egypt, the Marassi Beach Club will provide premier lifestyle and recreational amenities to help define the Marassi Resort, master planned community, as a luxury resort destination. The clean elegance of Mediterranean architecture using a stucco finish with color, stone and precast accents is influenced with Arabic architectural details, such as parapets, horseshoe and pointed arches to highlight the building form. This three-story structure provides an outdoor bar and lounge, indoor lounge, restaurant and outdoor dining, multi-purpose facility, a fitness center, and tower for exclusive view-oriented seating and relaxation.
The plan is designed to take advantage of views to the Mediterranean Sea by opening up many social gathering areas to the outdoors. The building is entered perpendicular to a focal arcade that frames the view to the sea setting up a dramatic sequence of experiential events as you pass through the view portal and down the ceremonial stairs to the lower terrace and beach areas beyond. This procession is framed by dramatic water elements leading your eye toward the sea. Uniquely, the fusion of contemporary and traditional details is depicted through the use of the rotunda building form, metal railings and sail shade structures over the outdoor bar and seating areas that focus on the stunning view.
