FIVE KNOLLS RECREATION CENTER

The Club at Five Knolls was designed as the central recreational hub within the Five Knolls community in Santa Clarita, CA. It sits at the intersection of the main community entrance roads and it’s tower form is the identifying icon element upon entrance into the community. The concept is reminiscent of a contemporary mid-century Ranch Style aesthetic. The main entrance focuses upon the pool area through an entry arbor that splits the building form into separate use areas.

The floor plan is organized to orient the spaces upon the pool area with large indoor/outdoor covered areas that provide shade from the hot Santa Clarita sun. A large bar area with stacking window system opens up to the exterior areas and doubles as a catering kitchen for community events. A separate entry for the catering kitchen is provided as well as a separate entry to the outdoor patio for service staff and local residents. Outdoor dining and television and outdoor fireplaces add warmth to evening gatherings. A separate restroom area services both the pool area and the building areas.
