NORTH YAS ISLAND

As part of the Vision for the 2030 Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council Master Plan, Aldar founded the vision to create a long term, sustainable framework for the future development of Yas Island. Driven by the many leisure and entertainment destinations already completed on Yas Island, North Yas Island Phase 2 was driven by the need to balance the creation of a series of residential communities with a strong setting and context. JZMK has developed a plan committed to a Community Wellness focus to include Physical, Emotional, Social, Spiritual, and Intellectual values.

The community balance with the extensive recreation amenities and community facilities promotes an active lifestyle and sense of pride to inspire residents. The pedestrian and cycling network, engagement with the canal and promenade, the central park and sports clubs, library, mosques and cultural opportunities all exemplify this healthy lifestyle. Four distinct districts were developed in the plan, each with its own sense of place and special features.
