Katja Martinez has been a key member of JZMK Partners since 2000, joining the firm after earning her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Applied Sciences in Stuttgart, Germany. Over her career with JZMK, she has advanced from Senior Designer to Principal, contributing to the firm’s growth and international project portfolio.
With nearly two decades of experience, Katja specializes in residential and mixed-use developments across the United States, China, and the Middle East. Her work includes custom homes, resort and recreational facilities, mixed-use communities, and high-rise residential buildings.
Among her notable projects is a high-density urban infill development along the Huangpu River in Shanghai featuring residential towers, luxury retail, and a five-star hotel. Additional work includes the Marassi Beach Clubhouse in Egypt and the award-winning Hillside residential project in Austin, Texas.
Katja is known for her thorough, solutions-focused approach to design and project delivery. In addition to her design leadership, she supports business development efforts and maintains strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
She is a former member of Toastmasters International, where she served as Secretary and Vice President of Membership and received recognition for public speaking. Katja also served as President of the SAGE Council in Southern California, supporting professional engagement and community leadership initiatives.
